High-Voltage Singing, Classic Music, & Dramatic Artistry

The Quartet
The Qol Quartet, a Sarasota-based quartet of professional singers, transports audiences through an odyssey of storytelling with the excitement and grandeur of beautiful song. Qol ['kol], ancient Aramaic for the “voice of thunder,” seemed the fitting choice for the group’s name. Like thunder, the four voices of Qol combine with power and natural beauty to convey tales of love and treachery, honor and betrayal; set in ancient as well as contemporary times. In addition, it cannot go unnoticed that – living in Florida – Qol has headquartered near what is widely regarded as the nation’s “lightning capital.” Qol encapsulates the essence of all these ideas.
Qol’s Johanna Fincher (soprano), Robyn Rocklein (mezzo-soprano), Russell Andrade (tenor), and Joseph Ryan (baritone) have united with the common aim of bringing a diverse array of vocal arts to the community on an intimate level. Ranging from Classical to Contemporary, Oratorio and Opera to Musical Theater, these four artists breathe freshness into some of the most beloved vocal repertoire.
Having worked together in various Florida arts organizations such as the Sarasota Opera, St. Petersburg Opera, Opera Tampa, and Gloria Musicae, the singers of Qol joined out of mutual respect for each other’s vocal abilities and theatrical passion. Individually, these four musicians have performed operatic roles and concerts internationally to great acclaim. Now residing in Sarasota, the members of Qol seek to bring their experience and artistry to venues all across the state of Florida, as well as throughout the United States.
